Mechanical Service Contractors Committee

Responsible for representing the Mechanical Service Contractors Association of America in bringing programs and services to the MCAI members; serves as a liaison with MSCA's Board of Managers. Currently two educational programs are being considered for this fall and this committee would oversee the planning of these programs.

National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau Committee

Responsible for the administration of the Iowa Chapter, National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau; coordinates with the U.A.'s welder certification program; keeps members informed of technical issues pertaining to welding processes. Currently working on bringing representatives of the NCPWB, UA and MCAA to Iowa for a panel discussion with local contractors and plumbers unions to outline the responsibilities and duties of the MCAI and the UA Locals in administering welding certifications and qualifying welders under Code.

Safety & Health Committee

Responsible for promoting safety within the industry; keeps MCAI members informed of all safety & health issues that may affect them; distributes and produces safety related materials; oversees all activities of outsourced safety consultants and the MCAI Safety and Training Director; acts as a liaison with MCAA and other affiliated safety committees; administers the MCAI safety training program endorsed by the Iowa Commissioner of labor.

Education & Training Committee

Responsible for all association activities with universities, which includes student chapters; interviews candidates and awards scholarships; develops training programs and seminars designed to enhance the managerial and/or craft skills of employees; distributes training materials; manages the resource library; participates with the MCAA's Career Development Committee; oversees the development of the Junior Executives Training Program.

Convention Committee

Plans and coordinates the MCAI Annual Convention; makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding future convention sites; plans other social functions.
